Over the past 50 years WA has been a powerhouse on the dance scene, with Jason Gilkison, Peta Roby, Paul Green, Robert and Shelda Wrightson, Jim and Betty Mashmedt and Roy and June Mavor who took formation dancing to the USA.
While secretary of the Australian Dancing Board of WA, Adam Penn decided to do his own research and has since successfully hosted dance history exhibitions around WA. Adam will trace the history of dance in WA that has touched literally thousands of lives since 1922, when the industry formally commenced, to the present. If you have ever been to any of the studios or are curious about the Gilkisons, Humphreys or any famous dance personality, this is the talk for you!
