Emeritus Professor Graeme Martin of the UWA Institute of Agriculture will discuss one of the biggest challenges facing humanity – feeding 35% more people by 2050. A massive increase in food production is not likely, because the planet will not get any bigger. Australia, as a major food exporter, needs to show vision and leadership in this global context and back up the talk with local action, on the farms and in the suburbs.
