 The Melville History Society and the City of Melville invite you to the annual Murdoch Lecture presented by Dr Arjun Subrahmanyan, lecturer in South East Asian Studies at Murdoch University.

Does democracy have any social resonance in a region that has featured many authoritarian regimes?

The lecture will investigate the history of democracy among Australia's neighbours and the conflicting strands of political culture in South East Asia.
