Event Type: 2021 Play & Learn Date: 11/07/2024 Start Time: 11:15 AM End Time: 12:00 PM Description: Join the wonders of the Children’s First Orchestra at city library where children explore instruments and make sounds come alive in an interactive and inclusive environment. Come on a journey of creating through play with the sounds of wood, metal and skin percussion, singing and playing through the elements of music and creating a collaborative soundscape for a well-loved story book. This session is for all children aged 3-5 years.
Library: City LibraryPresented by local singer-songwriter and arts educator Jen Lush. Jen is passionate about creating music, song writing and creative movement experiences with children through early childhood and beyond. Jen is currently running singing and song writing workshops at Eden Hills Kindergarten, Inkpot Arts, Carclew, and arts festival programs where children explore their own stories and self-identities through song making. Jen is also a music specialist in Early Childhood education at Flinders University, and has recently completed her ANCOS Level 1 in Orff Schulwerk music teaching. Jen regularly performs and releases her own music and collaborates with other artists on cross-genre projects including albums ‘Hum of the mettle’ and award winning ARBA Roots album of the year in 2021, ‘Let Loose The Beating Birds’. Location: Studio 1 Other Information: Recommended for children aged 3 to 5 years old. Parent or guardian supervision is required for children under 12 years of age.
