Description:
 Carers need a break to sustain their caring role. Lorrae and Vince O’Rourke understand the challenges of caring with its stress, sense of loss, guilt, exhaustion, joy and growth. You are invited to come and hear Lorrae discuss the nature of dementia and relevant services and Vince tell his story of his caring role. Vince O'Rourke, author of I Wish I Were a Leper, cared for his first wife who died from Alzheimer's disease. Vince and Lorrae have spoken for many organizations such as Alzheimer's Qld and Australia, Ozcare, Carers Qld, Commonwealth Respite Carelink Centres, Universities, TAFE’s, Rotary and Senior Groups. They are speaking for the Dementia Network Sunshine Coast as part of Dementia Awareness activities.
