Romance Writing Workshop with Leah Ashton

Event Type: Special Interest

Date: 5/08/2016
Start Time: 10:00 AM

Description:
Have you ever thought you’d like to write a romance?

Every romance novel guarantees a happy ever after – but anyone who has ever read one knows that the journey to that ending is far from formulaic. Which is a shame, as it makes them a lot harder to write!

So, while award-winning author Leah Ashton can’t provide you with a magic formula for writing a bestseller, she can introduce you to the craft of writing a publishable romance.

In this workshop, Leah will cover:

- What makes a book a romance novel?
- The different types of romance novels
- The basics of Goal, Motivation and Conflict: The building blocks of your story
- Writing the Opening Chapter
- Next steps... (writing organisations, submitting, agents, self-publishing etc).
