 In the year 2007 Steve Jobs launched the Apple iPhone. Imagine what will be common in 2027? Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality could be common place. In the past two years, sales of Virtual Reality systems have grown from almost zero to over six million systems. Microsoft HoloLens is now a product for Augmented Reality. Sales of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are predicted to grow into the tens of billions of dollars.

This talk will explore what the future of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality has in store for you. Prof Mark Billinghurst and Prof Bruce Thomas from the University of South Australia are world experts in these fields, they will provide a peek at what they are cooking up in their labs and research labs from around the world. So join them for a fun evening exploring how your life will be reimagined with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
Professor Bruce Thomas is currently the Co-Director of the Wearable Computer Laboratory at the University of South Australia. His current research interests include: wearable computers, user interfaces, augmented reality, virtual reality, visualisation, CSCW, and tabletop display interfaces.
Mark Billinghurst is Professor of Human Computer Interaction at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia. He earned a PhD in 2002 from the University of Washington and researches innovative computer interfaces that explore how virtual and real worlds can be merged, publishing over 300 papers in topics such as wearable computing, Augmented Reality and mobile interfaces.
